O primeiro medidor de caudal estava localizado a cerca de 5 metros a jusante de uma v\u00e1lvula de borboleta totalmente aberta, com o segundo medidor de caudal localizado a cerca de 2,5 metros mais a jusante. A sec\u00e7\u00e3o de tubo reto a montante tinha um comprimento ligeiramente insuficiente. Ap\u00f3s a entrada em funcionamento em 1997, foi observada uma discrep\u00e2ncia de 15% entre as leituras dos dois medidores de caudal numa conduta. Seis meses mais tarde, a discrep\u00e2ncia diminuiu ligeiramente para 10%. Apesar de inspec\u00e7\u00f5es e an\u00e1lises exaustivas, n\u00e3o foi poss\u00edvel identificar a causa da falha e o problema ficou por resolver.<\/p><p>S\u00f3 no final de 1998 \u00e9 que o medidor de caudal foi retirado, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>que se verificou que grandes peda\u00e7os de revestimento de cimento ca\u00edram na conduta de entrada, acumulando-se at\u00e9 300-350 mm de altura<\/strong><\/span>. Estes dep\u00f3sitos distorceram gravemente a distribui\u00e7\u00e3o da velocidade do fluxo que entrava no medidor de fluxo, com uma obstru\u00e7\u00e3o na parte inferior do tubo a bloquear cerca de 0,25 D da sec\u00e7\u00e3o transversal do fluxo. Uma vez desobstru\u00edda a obstru\u00e7\u00e3o, a medi\u00e7\u00e3o voltou ao normal. A redu\u00e7\u00e3o da discrep\u00e2ncia de 15% para 10% pode ser explicada pelo facto de a altura inicial dos detritos acumulados ser superior a 300-350mm, tendo diminu\u00eddo ao longo do tempo devido ao efeito de lavagem do fluxo, resultando numa discrep\u00e2ncia reduzida.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ad12d3d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ad12d3d\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3a5b50c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3a5b50c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Conclus\u00e3o:<\/h4><p>Ao instalar medidores de caudal, \u00e9 essencial assegurar que o di\u00e2metro do tubo corresponde ao di\u00e2metro interno do medidor de caudal, evitar a interfer\u00eancia de juntas no percurso do caudal e assegurar que a sec\u00e7\u00e3o reta do tubo tem comprimento suficiente. Para os medidores de caudal de grande di\u00e2metro, a inspe\u00e7\u00e3o interna da tubagem s\u00f3 deve ser realizada depois de interromper o fluxo.
